Coltrane Motion To Release New Album 'Hello Ambition' Next Week
Chicago duo Coltrane Motion release new album, start summer tour
It seems like no one makes bizarre electronic pop music in Chicago like Coltrane Motion does. Since their first full-length album Songs About Music the band has used their love for fuzzed-out tones, wailing distorition, and 70s-inspired songwriting to fuel their music. It's been a while since we saw new music from the band but fans are in luck. Coltrane Motion has ten shiney new songs to offer from their new album Hello Ambition!...

New Music From The Chap
UK's The Chap release 'Well Done Europe.'
The Chap are on a rather unique endeavor. The UK band wants to create music that “sounds wrong.” However, they aren’t doing a very good job at it – because The Chap sounds pretty right. Entrenched in a love for pop culture – The Chap are trying to bring something innovative to the dance – and bands like Radiohead and Grizzly Bear have taken notice for these under the radar rockers. New album Well Done Europe is out now on Lo Recordings/Ghostly Records. Have a listen to “We Work In Bars” below.

Kathryn Calder Of The New Pornographers Prepares For Solo Debut
Kathryn Calder prepares debut album with the help of her friends
It's good to have firends in high places, especially when you're in a high place yourself. Keyboardist Kathryn Calder has lent her talent to Immaculate Machine and the New Pornographers for the past several years. Soon a little voice sprung into her head asking her "If they can do it, why can't you?" Calder employed the help of her friend and her producer Collin Stewart to make her wish come true. The result is her debut album Are You My Mother? and it enlists the help of some of the friends Calder has made while playing in other bands. Neko Case, Kurt Dahle, Todd Fancey, and members of Ladyhawke and Frog Eyes helped Calder mold her ideas into a well-thought out album. For someone that has always played in the bandground, this debut puts Calder's remarkable voice and talent right in the forefront. Calder is currently on tour with the New Pornographers. Are You My Mother? debuts August 10 on File Under Music. Take a listen to Calder's single "Slip Away" below.
