New Music From DJ Boyfriend

Josh Young of Flosstradamus releases single under new moniker DJ Boyfriend

DJ Josh Young, one half of Flosstradamus and brother/collaborator Kid Sister, is starting a solo project called DJ Boyfriend. And his first single is as Chicago as he is. Young released his single entitled “The Shouts Pt. 2” through his website yesterday and if you haven't heard it yet, go download it as soon as you can. In “The Shouts Pt. 2” DJ Boyfriend pays homage to the people and places that make Chicago great over an ascending groove that turns the word “motherfucker” into a dance beat. You can download “The Shouts Pt. 2” through DJ Boyfriend's website, which also features weekly podcasts from Young, or take a listen to it through Everyone is Famous. Beware, this is probably not the right song to blast in your cubicle without your headphones on.

New Music From Mice Parade

Mice Parade prep new album for September release.

I don’t know what it’s like to be left-handed, so hopefully indie rockers (and the ever changing lineup) Mice Parade will answer that question for me when they release What It Means To Be Left-Handed on Fat Cat Records on September 14.  The album is 13 tracks deep and will feature covers of Lemonheads and Mice Parade’s labelmate Tom Brosseau. The band will be touring this fall in support of the album, so look for those dates soon.  Have a listen to new track “In Between Times” below.
