Missed Out Music
Do it all super blogger YACHT delivers a can't miss album.
It makes perfect sense for YACHT to be so commercially aware. YACHT creator Jona Bechtolt is the co-creator of the Urban Honking blog, he writes, produces and edits an internet TV show called The Ultimate Blogger and has produced/performed a full length electronic “pop opera? that has been featured a few art museums since 2003. Bechtolt has also been either been a drummer, producer, or both for seven different bands – The Blow being the most recent.
With his hand in so many cookie jars, it’s hard to think that he could find the time to record a solo album; but Bechtolt reaches to the top shelf and delivers a criminally underrated album in I Believe In You. Your Magic Is Real.
Bechtolt’s voice is sincerely normal; as he seems like a friend telling you to pick up every penny you see on the ground. While his voice won’t knock you over, his beats kill. YACHT is at its strongest when Bechtolt stops with his consumerism lectures and lets his laptop do the work. “It’s All the Same Price? follows this formula and just gets silly at the end when he introduces electronic gurus Eat Tapes into the beep boop equation.

I still had fun, but I desperately wanted to get my groove on...

Across The Pond
Goldfrapp, The Kooks and Cut Off Your Hands in this week's Across The Pond
Steve Hewitt, longtime drummer for nasal glam pop phenoms Placebo, has decided to part ways after over ten years of service. Now down to a duo, front man Brian Molko had this to say…
"Being in a band is very much like being in a marriage, and in couples - in this case a triple - people can grow apart over the years. To say that you don't love your partner anymore is inaccurate, considering all that you've been through and achieved together...
