News for Now

Fleet Foxes promise new music "soon," Kanye prepares to storm the SNL stage, and Bob Dylan gets reimagined by some crazy talented people.

Since I find the idea of choking down a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte disgusting, I rely on music and crunchy leaves to transition me into the best season ever. So, I've taken to listening to Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver CONSTANTLY. If I can't have a new FF album to listen to, the next best thing is knowing that it's coming at some point in the future. According to frontman Robin Pecknold (who's been working his little solo butt off), they've finished recording their newest LP, and are in the process of mastering and mixing it. I'll give you every single update I can about this album as the info hits the interwebs.

AW SHIT. Kanye West is hitting up Saturday Night Live. Actually, it probably isn't an "aw shit" moment. I mean, since Taylor Swift's hilariously awful "Kanye performance" at the VMAs, it's safe to say that he now looks like the good guy. Anyway, he'll be dropping by the SNL stage on October 2. Hopefully with some of the awesome people he's been collaborating with lately.

I went through a HUGE Bob Dylan phase last summer. I was that bitch that tried to talk about the genius of Blonde on Blonde as if no one had ever heard it before me. Thankfully, I'm over that point in my life, but I'm still pretty pleased to report that his album Bringing It All Back Home is getting the cover treatment. It's called Subterranean Home Sick Blues: A Tribute to Bob Dylan's Bringing It All Back Home. Doesn't roll off the tongue, but covers by Mirah, Franz Nicolay, Asobi Seksu, and The Morning Benders should take the edge off.
