New Music From Big Sean

Rapper builds young cast for his third mixtape

Earlier this week, August 31 to be exact, Big Sean launched the third mixtape in his ‘Finally Famous’ famous trilogy. Right after Kanye gave his final approval, of course. The G.O.O.D. artist gives us 18 tracks that are laced with a rather young group of rappers that make us hopeful to listen to how the roadmap of rap plays out. Shit, most of these artists are barely 20 years old!

In fact, Bun B is the only one on Finally Famous: Volume 3 that has some heavy experience in the hip-hop game. Among artists like Drake, Tyga, Chuck Inglish (of The Cool Kids), Aster Roth, Chiddy (of Chiddy Bang), Mike Posner and Clinton Spark, Bun B seems like a grandfather to these kids. Oh, and Big Sean only posts an age of 22. But that’s ok because the tape turns out to be a good listen that raises excitement for Big Sean’s eventual first full-length release that will also be entitled Finally Famous. And considering that September has arrived, the release date of the 14 draws near for Big Sean’s first LP, making this the final hope in hype-mongering support for the launch of the record. That, and a tour targeting the ears of college kids all-over the Midwest and Dirty South.

The Finally Famous Vol. 3 tour kicks off in South Carolina, moving around three different colleges, four dates in Texas alone and skips around the Midwest. Odd, there’s not a single East Coast or West Coast tour date among them.  Guess G.O.O.D. knows who Big Sean caters to. Peep the full tour dates below:

What do you say, does Kanye know how to pick ‘em for his label or no?
