We've Got You Covered: Ben Lee, MGMT And 'Kids'

Ben Lee covers indie darlings MGMT's 'Kids.'

Do you remember when it was 2008 and you heard MGMT’s “Kids” for the first time? I’m assuming you loved the song. Everybody loved the song. People love the song so much that it’s nominated for a Grammy this year. 2010. Which isn’t even the least sensical thing to happen to MGMT in 2010 – because they are nominated for best new artist. This year. 2010.

Do you remember how “Kids” made you dance? Well, Ben Lee’s version doesn’t do that. Ben Lee’s version does make you realize that MGMT aren’t just some kids with keyboards and a dream. MGMT has some intense lyrical chops.  And, in an unrelated note about Ben Lee, you should check out The Rage In Placid Lake. It’s a fantastic little movie in which Ben Lee stars. Until then, have a listen to Ben Lee’s cover of MGMT’s “Kids” below.

In Remembrance: The Darkness

It’s the last one, and screw it, metal still rules.

I’ve been saving this band for quite some time now; as this is quite possibly the last “In Remembrance,” it seemed only fitting to finish strong with a band that couldn’t possibly be missed more, The Darkness.  Now for those of you who only recall a bunch of Brits with long hair, ambling unintelligibly about women and booze in an arcane falsetto, boy have you been missing out (although those are undeniably the best parts)...
