Marnie Stern Delivers New Music
New album, ‘Marnie Stern,’ out October 5.
Marnie Stern’s third album, aptly entitled Marnie Stern will be out October 5. Marnie Stern was constructed during a very trying period in her life, and some of the initial recordings were actually lost and refound. This album, ultimately, shows a maturing stern. "I wanted to pay more attention to the delicate and subtly layered spaces in between sound and just make things louder and fuller where I didn't on my last 2 records." When asked to sum her album up she maintains, "It's direct and honest and real. I’m no longer taking cover under guitar lines or yelping vocals." Have a listen to “Transparency” below. Look for tour dates soon.

Karoshi Remixed by Spector
Karoshi’s debut album, ‘Not Sitting,’ out today.
Karoshi’s debut album Not Sitting is out today on Suitcase records. Karoshi, which is a Japanese term for working so hard you die, are brothers Sam and Dan Burt. The duo creates the electronic pop and seeks out under the radar vocal talent. Karoshi’s creations then get passed on to various remixers to put a new spin on their otherwise poppy songs. Have a listen to Spector’s remix of “Not Sitting” below.

Union Jackals Get Remixed
Union Jackals to release single in October, album to follow eventually.
Labor Day is apparently remix day, as HEAVE got our hands on another one – this remix coming from Union Jackals. Union Jackals are releasing a double A side single in October on Mapped Out Recordings. The six song grouping Press Reset / I Am The Sun features remixes from Tenth Chapter/Base Mosquito, Dustmotes, What’s His Face and Jackalista. You can hear Jackalista’s remix below.
Universal Screenplay will be the long-runner, but we have no idea when the album will be out. Union Jackals are taking each song on the album and handing it over to a director. The director will then make a visual of their track. Once all the tracks are complete the album will be released as a CD/DVD combo. Pretty neat concept.
