Commercially Aware
You can call them sellouts, but HEAVE calls them career moves.
As a general rule, I don't trust anything that comes from the internet. My mail-order Russian bride tried to stab me in my sleep, Amazon.com once took five weeks to ship me a book and the Overstock.com commercials make me wonder if I'm buying a toaster oven or a sex escort (or some combination of the two, God willing).
The same is true of online universities. To be sure, I understand that we live in a viral age, and that soon enough most forms of social interaction with be highly digitalized...

Champions of the unknown music sales territory, Radiohead, have reportedly sold over 1. 2 million copies of their latest album In Rainbows. According to anonymous sources, just 38% of fans paid an average $6, whereas 62% of people who downloaded the album paid not one red cent. The generous 38% will also be given the opportunity to purchase a career spanning box set due out soon, courtesy of Parlophone.

Takin' You Back
TYB gets the folk out this week.
Now hold on a second. I know what you're thinking. Hippies are number two on your list of people you sometimes want to punch in the stomach, right behind those damn emo kids. Still, folk music is both underappreciated and underrepresented on the classic rock scene. Obscure music isn't necessarily good music, but this stuff all is. Now you will understand some of the jokes from A Mighty Wind.

Windy City Watch
Oh Chicago, you give us our home, and many great bands. This week So Long Forgotten hits the Watch.
So Long Forgotten are one of those bands that could easily fall into the category of being their own moniker, so long forgotten. With the scores of bands at VFW's and in basements throughout the suburbs of the Midwest - pop punk, screamo, hardcore and the like are a dime a dozen. It's refreshing to find a band that doesn't sound like they are playing inside a tin can or trying to be just another At The Drive In cover band...
