HEAVE Closes Concert Year With All Things Lucid
Next concert series features All Things Lucid - portion of proceeds towards Urban Gateways.
HEAVEmedia is announcing the next lineup in our concert series: All Things Lucid, Son of the Son, and The Brian Miller Band. The 21-and-up show starts at 8 p.m, Thursday, December 3rd, at The Darkroom. Max Bremmer will host the show, but we're also throwing you some extra comedy by Matty Ryan (you're welcome). Tickets are $8 dollars at the door, and $7 if you get them in advance. And we're trying to get into the holiday spirit, so a portion of the proceeds from the night will go to Urban Gateways. Come early, have a drink, and see some great comedy and music.
This show is being produced in affiliation with VPK Solutions and Kilo Inc. and is sponsored by Magic Hat Beer.
All the bands, as well as Urban Gateways and HEAVEmedia are selling pre-sale tickets. You can also purchase tickets electronically through the Darkroom's website. You can get more information here.

New Music From The Horrors
The Horrors give us a 'Whole New Way.'
Aside from releasing one of the great psychedelic goth/rock gems of the decade, Primary Colours, The Horrors have now graciously released a brand new one off b-side/single in the form of "Whole New Way."
The Horrors weren't even out of their rehearsal spot diapers back in 2005 before the extremely fickle British press universally lauded them as the "next big thing." What with their eyeliner, booshy black hair dos and extremely tight slacks; what's not to love? Apparently, style trumped substance. Impossible to think that debut, Strange House, is now considered an upset by these twerps.
This years' Primary Colours silenced critics and awestruck fans old and new. The funeral slop freak out had been replaced with five guys in a room crafting very thoughtful and very sinister songs. It's everything Echo and The Bunnymen lost in 1986, but in some ways even better.
The tightness of their Dwight Yoakam proportion jeans hasn’t constricted the creative blood flow here on b-side/single "Whole New Way." Singer Faris Badwan's voice is lost in another world. Also, the synths lurk around a bass line that recalls early OMD. Magnificent!

We've Got You Covered: Deer Tick and Sean Kingston
Deer Tick covers Sean Kingston's 'Beautiful Girls.'
Deer Tick got their name when lead singer John McCauley was hiking near Bloomington, Indiana and noticed that he, in fact, had a deer tick incest attached to his body. I’m assuming he removed it shortly after, and named the band Deer Tick in memory of his fallen hiking buddy.
Deer Tick was also the very first band profiled on Britunes, a web show hosted by NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams. Did you know Brian Williams liked indie/folk rock? I sure didn’t.
Listen to Deer Tick’s version of “Beautiful Girls” below.
