Eastern Conference Champions Prep New Album

Eastern Conference Champions set to release "SPEAK-AHH" in the fall.

Eastern Conference Champions found vindication in breaking off from a major label contract, opting to self-release their Fall 2009 Santa Fe EP with full creative control by them and them only. This decision made Santa Fe EP their most critically welcomed record yet – and Eastern Conference Champions are setting themselves for another championship run in the Fall of 2010 with the release of the full length SPEAK-AHH. Have a listen to “Bloody Bells” below.

Screaming Females Talk About 'Castle Talk'

Screaming Females give details about new album due in September

Last year Screaming Females toured non-stop in support of their third album Power Move, sharing dates with the Dead Weather, Arctic Monkeys, Jay Reatard and Dinosaur Jr.  Somehow in between bus rides and venue dates the trio found time to think about new material and a new album.  "Power Move was the first record that a lot of people had heard by us, and after that came out a lot of people had the same reaction, that Marissa [Paternoster] is a woman who can play guitar solos," said drummer Jarrett Dougherty.  On the band's new album Castle Talk, Screaming Females become more than a short stack shredder and two guys and evolve into a solid trio with strong lyrics and stronger rock.  The band used their DIY ethics that made them the band that they are today to create their solid sound on their new album, rejoining with friends at New Jersey's Hunt Studios to reinvent their sound.  Castle Talk comes out September 14 on Don Giovanni Records.

Carl Broemel Preps Solo Album

My Morning Jacket's Carl Broemel sets to release solo album August 31.

Carl Broemel has found quite a bit of success as the guitarist for My Morning Jacket, but Broemel wanted a little more. Broemel is set to release his first solo album entitled All Birds Say on August 31. All Birds Say is a rather sincere release, as Broemel’s lyrics allow the listener into the most intimate moments of his life. Have a listen to “Heaven Knows” below.
