Cee-lo's New Song Blows Up, Announces Solo Album Date.
Cee-lo has newest song typed out for your audio-visual pleasure
If you haven’t listened to Cee-lo’s ‘Fuck You’ yet, you owe yourself to stick around and have a peek. The artist released his new hit single August 19, which was produced by Elektra label mate Bruno Mars, to considerable buzz. Check the article at MTV and understand how organic the hit came to fruition between Mars and Cee. I guess all it takes is a dynamic duo for Cee-lo to perform at his best (hint: Gnarls Barkley).
Hell, this song struck a chord with 50 Cent and he decided to through a couple dimes at a verse for an unwarranted remix of the song, much to the flattery of Cee-lo. The song documents an unfit love between singer and someone he cant have, followed by Cee-lo talking mad shit about that gold-diggin’ bitch. With a title so simple and vulgar, it makes perfect sense. On the less vulgar side, the artist recorded a lovely alternate for radio play with the non-potty-mouth titled ‘Forget You.’ Surely, with the Internet buzz, the less effective version will garner plenty of spins from DJs.
Hot on the tail of the hype, news of the artist’s next solo album in form of a release date has come to light. Set your sights to December 7th for Cee-lo’s The Lady Killer. Let’s all hope that whatever singles Cee-lo launches from here to there are as good as ‘Fuck You’ because in the past, he hasn’t done all too well on the solo scene. In fact, he was dropped from label Arista after only two releases, the last being all the way in 2004. So here’s to hoping that this is a new, brighter beginning for his solo career.
