Peculiar Gentlemen take on Beyonce's 'Single Ladies.'
You are lying to me if you tell me you didn’t like “Single Ladies” by Beyonce. Seriously, it’s one of the most perfect songs ever created. I know many of Beyonce’s songs are about empowering females – but it really doesn’t get better than “Single Ladies.” It sort of makes me feel like a shitty male.
Speaking of males, the Peculiar Gentlemen have covered “Single Ladies.” The Peculiar Gentlemen are just what their name implies – as they are a pretty peculiar pair. The group is the duo of folk/rock guitarist “Sweet” Willy Jive and hip-hop keyboardist E-Beats. Recently the band had added a cavalcade of back-up singers. The Peculiar Gentlemen’s sound is also well, pretty odd – combining 1960’s soul with a lighthearted sense of humor. Take a listen to “Single Ladies” below.
