The humble EP has long been looked down upon. Perhaps for their meager amount of content, or for their modest prices. Nonetheless, these “mini” albums have long been regarded as a lesser art form than their supplementary tracked brethren. No longer will EP’s settle for an injustice like this, Husband&Wifes’ 2007 Tour EP, may not sound like a musical renaissance, but if you only knew what power five simple indie songs could hold.

This musical endeavor begins with “Nicer Pipes,” which is a fantastically re-worked and re-recorded version oh their old time favorite, “Nice Pipes.” Before going much further, it’s only decent of me to mention that all of the songs that make up this EP are past Husband&Wife masterpieces re-done; so even if you have heard the originals, it’s safe to say there will be no disappointment factor hidden here. By one track into the album you’ve already calmed down from your hectic everyday life, namely due to Adams’ soothing vocal melodies and fun toy percussion background accompaniment.

“(More) Dissonant Children” and “(X) Fingered Handshake,” bring back the good old anthems that drove fans to Husband&Wife years ago, but these songs have a new more mature and powerful taste than they in previous incarnations. The closing number is certainly not to be overlooked either, “(Re)build” is a nearly eight minute action packed, almost entirely instrumental indie powerhouse. What many bands still dream about after numerous full-length albums, Husband&Wifes’ 2007 Tour EP has summed up in a mere five tracks.
