A Cause For Attention
The Global Music Project asks you to download music - and save the world.
With all the negative connotations music downloads have picked up over the years, it’s about time organizations push for positive momentum. Charity tracks have been appearing now and again from artists and labels, but The Global Music Project brings the idea to a new level.

The British Are Coming
Lily Allen hosts a TV show, Clinic sets a date on a new album and new music from The Futureheads
Lily Allen has a TV show? Doesn't sound like such a bad idea. She seems sweet enough and has a sense of humor, just listen to her lyrics. Unfortunately, the first taping “Lily Allen And Friends” left some in the audience questioning their relationship with the pop princess. Her jokes fell flat, she couldn't read her cue cards and fifty people walked out. Allen also managed to offend actor Cuba Gooding Jr. while showing a tape of animals having sex. Takin' You Back
TYB brings you some of the best and unknown instrumental indie acts around.
I like instrumental indie-rock. A few bands come to mind when someone mentions instrumental rock. Tortoise takes full advantage of having two drummers at their live shows (at least at the one I saw), Godspeed You Black Emporer have mastered the epic twenty minute song that keeps your attention and Don Caballero is just absolutely amazing (and I do not throw that term around). Here is some good instrumental music you may not have heard before...

We've Got You Covered
The Flaming Lips explore what life would be like if Wayne only had a brain.
Continuing our extended feature of the Stubbs the Zombie soundtrack, this week we’ll look at a cover of “If I Only Had a Brain” by the Flaming Lips. So far, we’ve had an infectious treat with Ben Kweller’s “Lollipop” and a classic slow dance tune in Death Cab for Cutie’s rendition of “Earth Angel.”
The only way to describe what the Flaming Lips have done with “If I Only Had a Brain” is that it’s different. Bass, xylophone, bells, a clarinet, an electric instrument that’s probably the theremin and some pretty odd and almost creepy voices in the background join Wayne Coyne’s voice. However, all of the oddities in this track are things that we have come to love about the Flaming Lips.
Listen and enjoy a quality cover that will have you nodding your head and tapping your foot and maybe even cringing in fear at the maniacal laughter at the end of the track.

Take a listen to Headlights, Coconut Records and Yeni Raki
Headlights – Cherry Tulips - Somewhere among the cornfields and drunk frat boys in white baseball caps that encapsulate Champaign, IL is an indie pop band called Headlights. After a well received EP and full-length, and lots of touring, this male/female fronted group is back at it again with upbeat number called “Cherry Tulips...
