New Music From Wale
Artist launches 'More About Nothing' mixtape
Could it be that Wale’s greatest successes so far have been on the subject matter of nothing? Well, with Wale’s recent release of his follow up to A Mixtape About Nothing, the D.C. artist gives us More About Nothing. The most nothing you’ll ever experience in your eardrum, besides nothing.
Wale’s More About Nothing takes off where the last Seinfeld tape left of – good beats, nice flow and of course, plenty of memorable Seinfeld quotes mingling their way on the tracks. The tape launched for free download August 3 and brings forth 21 tracks coupled with George smoking, soup Nazis, Cool and Dre, and even a famous Seinfeld interview where Jerry rips Larry King a new one. But in reality, this is about the music and to be completely honest, Wale’s Seinfeld mixtapes far exceed the level of quality that his freshman LP Attention Deficit had when it hit shelves last year. Tough love for Wale – mixtapes don’t exactly pay rent. But they do keep the fans happy. And where there are happy fans, there’s opportunity.
Which is probably why Wale will be coupling the release of More About Nothing with a show about nothing. No not Seinfeld, the artist will be performing with UCB (Tre from UCB appears on two of the new tape’s tracks) in New York City August 16. Maybe, just maybe we’ll get a tease when Wale might be unveiling us some new LP material. After all, his last LP released over a year ago and within current musically standards, it’s time to release something new.
But enough about that, you should be downloading (dl link at the bottom of the linked page) Wale’s More About Nothing, kicking back and enjoying a listen. If you’re still a bit worried about taking the full dive and downloading a FREE tape, have a listen to one of the high points below. Let Wale lay a little sax down for you in his track “The Friends N Strangers.”
