New Music From Frankie Rose And The Outs
Veteran rocker Frankie Rose debuts single from her new project
Frankie Rose is a modern legend in the Brooklyn scene. She's been in three of the hottest bands this decade – Crystal Stilts, Dum Dum Girls, and Vivian Girls – and is ready to bring her veteran experience to her first solo project Frankie Rose and the Outs. Taking cues from oldies LPs and 60s girl pop bands, Frankie Rose and the Outs represent an entirely different direction for Rose whose previous bands were lo-fi and DIY. "I tried to make this album as hi-fi as possible while sticking to the sounds that I've always loved," explains Rose in a press release about her new project. "I grew up listening to a lot of musicals and Gilbert and Sullivan operas, so harmonies are a given. I also was drawn to anything spooky as a kid-'Good Vibrations' still kinda scares me. Reverb puts a haze on everything, you know?"
Rose enlisted fellow lady rockers Caroline Yes, Margot Bianca, and Kate Ryan to the project and the quartet's prowess for harmonies and dream-pop created the band's debut album Frankie Rose and the Outs. The album continually jumps from ruff and tumble rock to sweet and soaring ballads, all the while featuring Rose's strong vocals. Take a listen to the band's first single “Little Brown Haired Girls” below. Frankie Rose and the Outs is set to release September 21 on Slumberland Records.
