Reflection Eternal Debuts New 'Midnight Hour' Video
Talib Kweli and Hi-tek team with Estelle in this classy track
We first teased the return of Reflection Eternal, consisting of New York’s Talib Kweli and Cincinatti’s Hi-Tek back in January for the announcement of their second LP. Now, the release of Revolutions Per Minute lingers closer than ever, set to drop next week. With that in mind Reflection Eternal launches a video for ‘Midnight Hour’ featuring Britain’s Estelle to entice fans prior to the album’s launch.
"Midnight Hour" is the fifth track on Revolutions Per Minute and tells the story of a crazy about each other couple that can’t see each other until, you guessed it, the midnight hour. DJ Hi-Tek lays down a trumpet-heavy beat while Talib and Estelle go back and forth with the story. An excellent teaser video to raise hype for the album, what with Estelle lending her star power to the otherwise underground group. Since the album is available for pre-order, the official track listing is available for Reflection Eternal’s next album.
We won’t bore you with the list, but we will let you know the featured artists. Bun B performs a verse on "Paranoid," a track questioning big business and governement. A video for "Paranoid" can be seen here. Chester French appears on the unreleased "Get Loose." Phillies R&B artist Res appears on the albums third track, "Back Again." Lastly perhaps the album’s hottest track "Back Again" features Mos Def, J.Cole, and Jay Electronica, artist fans of Talib, Mos Def, or Hi-Tek should be familiar with.
Revolutions Per Minute hits stores May 18 and likely will be ignored by the masses and coveted by those who truly appreciate hip-hop. Check out the video for "Midnight Hour" below and get ready to cop the album next week.
