Neverever Prep Debut Album For Slumberland
Neverever to release 'Angelic Swells' later this month
Remember when pop was a good description of music, when girl groups weren't slutty and actually were talented singers? LA immigrants Neverever do and are ready to give pop back the former glory it once held. Jihae and Wallace Meek moved from Glasgow to LA and immersed themselves in cheap 45s and classic diners, soaking up the vintage flair the city has. Jihae and Wallace both were in bands before, Jihaw in The Royal We and Wallace in Bricolage, and it was only a matter of time for the two to start collaborating on a new project. Angelic Swells is the debut album from Neverever and it gathers together the best of classic pop. Full of three minute bursts of energy, the band's new album combines 50 and 60s girl groups, 70s glam, and the fizz of 80s power-pop. Check out their single "Young and Dumb" below. Very "That Thing You Do" meets Blondie. Angelic Swell comes out May 25 on Slumberland Records.
