Jeezy's 'Trap Or Die 2' Drops

Don Cannon lends his production prowess to Young Jeezy's album

Looking for something to listen to and B.o.B.’s Billboard #1 album isn’t your flavor? Young Jeezy offers up the highly anticipated Trap or Die 2, sequel to the original that dropped in 2006. This time, Jeezy drops DJ Drama and gives Don Cannon a turn at producing the tape. Available for free, Jeezy explains in an interview with MTV, “You gotta feed the streets first. That’s who gonna rock with you, win, lose or draw.” Jeezy and Don Cannon deliver with this meaty (in quantity and quality) tape that serves to hype Jeezy’s next album slated for release this summer, Thug Motivation 103.

Included with the 22-track mixtape, Jeezy completes the package with a few visuals. Recently a video for the intro track, “Introduction” hit the net, giving a tease for the tape and TM103. Before that, “Hood Politics” received a video makeover for the funk guitar infused beat, showing us what Jeezy’s about. Let’s just say those swishes aren’t filled with tobacco. It wouldn’t be crazy to think that we may see another video or two, with the likes of Plies, Baby, Bun B, Clipse, Trick Daddy, Scarface, or Bigga Rankin features on the tapes tracks

Despite the handful of featured artists, Trap or Die 2 is mostly a Jeezy affair. That’s something to respect considering many artists fill most of their music with many other artists, making their own messages cloudy more than anything. You can download Young Jeezy’s Trap or Die 2 here and give a listen to the splicey piano splashed anthem “Stop Playin Wit Me” below. Keep on trappin’ and tide yourself over with this tape until Thug Motivation 103 sees stores this summer.
