New Music From B.o.B
Half of B.o.B's album is already leaked. We give you one of the songs.
B.o.B.’s freshman album The Adventures of Bobby Ray originally had a release date of May 25 (coinciding with a mixtape of the same name), but will be ready for release next week, April 27. The weeks leading up to the albums release have seen a flood of leaks as over a half of the album can already be listened to around the net. And may we add that we haven’t be this excited for a freshman since Kid Cudi, who proved his success last fall with his first album. Here’s the track listing for B.o.B.’s The Adventures of Bobby Ray a title in tribute to 90s icon Slick Rick.
1. Don't Let Me Fall
2. Nothin' On You (feat. Bruno Mars)
3. Past My Shades (feat. Lupe Fiasco)
4. Airplanes (feat. Hayley Williams of Paramore)
5. Bet I (feat. T.I. & Playboy Tre)
6. Ghost In The Machine
7. The Kids (feat. Janelle Monáe)
8. Magic (feat. Rivers Cuomo)
9. Fame
10. Lovelier Than You
11. 5th Dimension (feat. Ricco Barrino)
12. Airplanes, Part II (feat. Eminem & Hayley Williams of Paramore)
Now lets break down what we have heard in anticipation for the album hitting stores soon. You can listen to four of the album’s tracks on B.o.B.’s official website. The opening track, “Dan’t Let Me Fall,” opens will as a melodic piano-infused hopefully beginning for Bobby Ray. What follows is a track we’ve been able to hear for months, “Nothin’ On You” with Bruno Mars. This provides a save bet for a second track, since “Nothing On You” has already proven successful. “Bet I,” which we got an early taste of on the May 25th mixtape (sans T.I.) also finds itself on B.o.B.’s official site, along with “Airplanes” which features Paramore’s Hayley Williams providing an excellent chorus. Now on to unintentional leaks in B.o.B’s paper thin dam.
“Past My Shades” features Chicago’s own Lupe Fiasco, a track that B.o.B. hasn't acknowledged leaking on his official site and may not even be the final edit. It definitely sounds legitimately final; you can listen below and decide for yourself. “Airplanes, Part II” leaked with Bobby Ray taking notice and posted about its leak while allowing for fans to listen. The wrath of Marshell Mathers can definitely be heard in the song’s final verse. And finally, “Fame” hit the web as well with The Knux producing.
That makes 7/12 songs leaked, which kind of sucks if you’re B.o.B. There is a silver lining, however. They’re all good, making us more excited for this album’s release. And when tracks leak, that’s what you want. You can support B.o.B. in his freshman efforts and pick up The Adventures of Bobby Ray April 27.
