Nice To Meet You: Liz Isenberg

The soft-spoken indie-folk sweetheart Liz Isenberg

She’s a classically trained musician, has played everywhere from birthday parties to a Rolling Stone stage, and makes impeccably irresistible lo-fi folk rock, I’m speaking, of course of singer/songwriter Liz Isenberg.  From majoring in Sound Art at Hampshire College to touring the East Coast and Midwest, Liz’s DIY spirit and great tunes have captured all who have given her a moment’s listen.  The 20-something, originally from the DC area, writes deeply personal songs with a twist of good-natured humor.

Isenberg released her debut album in 2006.  Seeport, Seaport, Seeport, released by Leisure Class Records, did not sell outrageously well, however, peers and critics alike warmly received it.  In 2009, Isenberg recorded and released her second album, Indifferent & Imaginary.

In late 2009, Isenberg teamed up with Deer Tick frontman, John McCauley to write the duet, “Friday xiii,” which appears on the band’s new album, Born on Flag Day.
