Light Pollution Signs to Carpark Records, Announces New LP
Chicagoans Light Pollution sign to Carpark, continue tour
I couldn't feel more attuned to the opening line of Chicagoans Light
Pollution's press release “Midwesterners often feel
obligated to apologize for/complain about their landscape. Chicago's
Light Pollution does not.“
Yes, I love to complain about the shitty, tumultuous weather
patterns that sweep Chicago every week. And yes, Light Pollution's
music does speak of the antithesis. Often times it's the only thing
that can make me think Chicago is beautiful when there is wind
shoving icy snow right into my face. Carpark Records announced
today that they have signed Light Pollution and are expecting their
first release Apparations on the label this summer. The band spent this abysmal
winter cooped up in a heatless warehouse writing their new LP and are
currently putting the finishing touches on for the summer release
date. The band's signature dreamy, psychedelic sound will be a nice
reminder of the hidden gems we miss during inclement weather. Light
Pollution is currently on tour and will be at SXSW come mid March for
several showcases. Apparations comes out June 15th.
