Nice to Meet You: The Dig

Causing a stir and looking for me - check out The Dig.

Since breaking onto the scene in 2007 with their debut EP Good Luck and Games, New York rockers, The Dig, have been on a nonstop jaunt through the world of music; including tours with Sean Bones, Editors, The Walkmen, White Rabbits, The XX and will be sharing the stage with Alaska’s Portugal. the Man in the coming weeks.  The band has also played three different residencies at Piano’s in NYC.

Though the band is currently based in Brooklyn, and thrives there, the group actually originates from California and Canada.  Guitarist David Baldwin and bassist Emile Mosseri have been playing music together ever since they met at age twelve and began pounding out Rage Against The Machine covers.

Not the sound of your typical rock band, The Dig have been making crowds swoon for years with their mesh of punk rock know how, and homage to the classics like the Kinks and David Bowie.  The group is straight rock n’ roll; from the overdriven guitar on their number, “She’s Gonna Kill That Boy,” to the groove inducing bass and keyboards in “Penitentiary,” The Dig has a little something for every set of musical taste buds.

The Dig recently finished up recording their first full-length record, Electric Toys, in NYC with celebrated producer, Bryce Goggin (Sean Lennon, The Ramones, Bishop Allen, Apples in Stereo).  Expect to see Electric Toys hitting record players and scoring big reviews this April.
