New Mixtapes From B.o.B., Bun B And Team Teamwork

February is apparently the month of the mixtape.

February is still young and plenty of new music has already dropped. First, B.o.B.’s mixtape May 25^th dropped, providing a lead-in to his debut album launching that same day entitled The Adventures of Bobby Ray. Call it a marketing scheme, but B.o.B. (aka Bobby Ray) offers some meta-commentary on that, some on his names and having DJ’s on his tape in the intro of May 25^th. The tape certainly proves to be a well thought out effort from B.o.B who has been named one of Billboard’s top ten emerging artists. The tape features guests like Asher Roth, Charles Hamilton, Bruno Mars and J.Cole on its 16 tracks. Hey, even Kanye West produced a track on the tape. The same day B.O.B. made his tape available Bun B launches his non-mixtape mixtape, No Mixtape. Had enough of the word mixtape yet? Either way, Bun B lets listeners into his head for a collection of his freestyle over popular beats like ones from Gucci Mane’s “Lemonade” and Jay Z’s song “On to the Next One.” Bun B has been leaking his freestyles for a few weeks now and finally took the time to compile them all, add some snippets for his next album Trill O.G. and poof! We have No Mixtape. You can download No Mixtape here. Trill O.G. has an anticipated release date of March 2.

Lastly, Team Teamwork brings forth a nerdier fair with Vinyl Fantasy 7. What happens when you take popular rap songs and mix them to soundtracks from video games? Team Teamwork answers these questions with Vinyl Fantasy 7, a tribute to the role playing game Final Fantasy 7. The tape features artists Clipse, Gucci Mane, Jay-Z, Murs, Outkast and Raekwon to name a few.
