Nice To Meet You: USS Leland
Leland Lewis honors grandfather with catchy tunes.
I love my grandparents, and I’m sure you love yours, too. But Leland Lewis has decided to make all of us look bad and show the ultimate respect for his grandpa, Rutherford Garry.
Leland’s grandpa fought in World War II, and helped raise Leland when he was little. When Rutherford passed away, Leland started to find out more and more about his grandpa, which led to writing songs in honor of his grandpa’s amazing life.
USS Leland is set to release a three song EP on September 21 through CDBaby entitled Redemption. Redemption features Garry’s old accordion that Leland found while rummaging through his grandpa’s stuff, and a flute and guitar. Have a listen to one of the tracks below, and, if you are like me, maybe put a little bit more thought into your grandparent’s next birthday card.
